Laos hires Vietnamese coaches in preparation for SEA Games
Laos has hired Vietnamese coaches to train its national teams who will participate in the 24th Southeast Asian Games, to be held in Thailand by the end of this year, said Lao National Sports Committee.
The Vietnam News Agency reported from Vientiane that eight Vietnamese coaches will train Lao athletes in shooting, swimming, diving, volleyball, beach volleyball, wushu and karatedo.
Also, Laos has hired other foreign trainers specialising in table tennis, football, boxing, pencat silat and petanque. They come from China, the Republic of Korea, Russia, Cuba, Indonesia, Mongolia, Japan and Thailand.
The 24th SEA Games will attract the participation of around 660 Lao officials and athletes who will compete in 24 sports, the largest number so far. Laos is nurturing a hope to snatch medals in martial arts and petanque.
Laos will host the 25th SEA Games in 2009

Here, I would like to quote the idea of the clever Chinese leader, Deng Xiaoping, who turned China to market economy. He said no matter what kind or colour of a cat, as long as the cat can catch the mouses, it would always be useful. So what I want to say is our taget should be a quality rather than good names but lousy. So I don't mind what nationality of our coaches and if our Lao teams can do well in the game, I would very much appreciate.
PS: My advice to our coaches is if you want to be good coaches, please don't let the Lao teams drink beer after trainning. Be aware about this, otherwise it would be like the last shameful incident: Singapore-Lao football scored 11-0. Tell them that Lao ancestors lost Insan (Northeast provinces of Thailand) to Thailand due to Sura and Naree in Khorat. Best wishes
