Laos confirms to cooperate in education with Vietnam effective
(KPL) -Minister of Education Somkot Mangnomek asserted that the educational service of Laos and Vietnam will boost mutual cooperation practically and effectively, according to Vietnam News Agency.
The cooperation will focus on promoting teaching and studying quality as well as exchanging information and new technologies between the two countries, the minister said. He elaborated that Vietnamese Government has annually granted tens of millions USD to Laos to build and upgrade schools, procure school equipment, in addition to many scholarships.
Vietnam has recently given Laos 46 billion VND (about 3 million USD) for building a school for talented students. She also helps Laos develop human resources, the minister added.
Minister Somket made known that his ministry has planned to teach Vietnamese, Chinese and other foreign languages in schools.
