Laos Today: Laos claims to have trade surplus with foreign countries for the first time in 32 years due to its mineral export , especially the gold and copper ore from Sepon mine. It says it has exported more than 22 percent of mineral ore for the first 6 months of 2006 to 2007.
What accounting standards are they using to come up with all these figures ? Laos has a trade surplus - World bank, did you guys hear that ? Somebody has to be on Yaar Bah drug to make such a statement publicly...
Look at the overall economy, a country with trade surplus, wouldn't be like this. Do not read that number, look at the whole. By the way, I don't think the government had earned a fair share from the mining companies.
